The day after Daddy took Mommy to an amazing sushi restaurant to celebrate her birthday, we all decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and explore New York City. We asked Andrew if he wanted to ride on a boat (take the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island) or go up to the top of a big building (see the skyline from the Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center). Andrew said "go to the top of a big tower" and so we jumped on the subway and headed to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck. We didn't have to wait in line and within minutes, we were gazing at the tops of buildings and soaking in the sights.
We would like to go back to the Top of the Rock at night so we can see the skyline lit up, but most especially we'd love to see the lights on the Empire State Building.
After spending nearly an hour at the Top of the Rock, we took the elevator down and walked to Times Square. We stopped briefly at the M&M Store so Andrew could put together a small bag of his favorite candy - he loved picking out some new and wild M&M colors. We were all starting to get hungry and thirsty, so we decided to pick up our car and some food on the way and start the drive back home.
