We had wanted to take Andrew to see the lights in Rockefeller Center last year, but we never found the time to do it. This year, we decided we were not going to miss the chance to see Andrew's expression when he saw the tree, so we jumped on the train and headed up to Manhattan. We started in Union Square, where we had a little snack and drank a few cups of hot apple cider.
We jumped onto the subway and headed north toward Rockefeller Center. Riding the trains were Andrew's favorite part of the evening.
The crowds were amazing at Rockefeller! We managed to squeeze through the people and snap a few pictures of the beautiful Christmas tree.
Andrew especially liked the "flower" at the top of the tree.
On our way through Times Square, we bumped into Elmo! Andrew was thrilled to see his favorite Sesame Street monster, so we stopped for a hug, high five and a photo.
We got home late, but we had a wonderful evening soaking in the sights and lights in New York City.
