Happy birthday, America! We started our day with doughnuts for breakfast, which is a very special treat for Andrew. He was thrilled and nearly ate two of them all by himself.
Ben did his best to avoid having his picture taken. Silly guy.
After breakfast, the boys played for a while with Thomas the Train.
Andrew decided that the activity for the day would be a rousing game of mini golf. Nobody objected, so we headed off to the course to play 18 holes. Andrew and Ben played with Ben's grandparents from Texas, who were visiting for a week. Mommy and Daddy paired up with Uncle Neal and Aunt Susan.
Uncle Neal even takes mini golf very seriously.
Mommy needs to work on her putting skills.
This is the hole where Mommy and Daddy had a very, very hard time getting it into the hole. Daddy more so than Mommy, but it was fairly embarrassing.
After we finished, Daddy had to drown his horrible loss on the mini golf course away with a few glasses of sangria.
We watched fireworks, chased fireflies and had a delicious dinner of steak and ribs. It was a lovely way to spend Independence Day!
